If you missed the excitement coming out of Lely’s Future Farm Days last month, you missed the announcement of a sensational new program relevant to current and future customers, Lely Horizon. Horizon is Lely’s new herd management solution which will be replacing T4C in spring of 2021. You may be thinking, “Wow, that’s great! And a little bit scary…”. Do not fret! Here is everything we know so far about Lely’s Horizon.
Lely Horizon requires the following:
Windows 10. It is also compatible with windows server 2012, 2016 and 2019.
Compatible SQL Servers:
2014 Express Edition x64
2014 Standard Edition SP3 x64
2016 Standard Edition SP3 x64
2017 Standard Edition x64
2019 Standard Edition x64
T4C:
Must be on version 3.12.X.X.
Lely Horizon is not compatible with the following:
Windows 7
Windows Server 2008
Lely A2 Robot
Windows 8
SQL Server 2008
That covers all the logistics. As a current customer, if you do not meet any of the following criteria, your local Lely Center will be reaching out to you.
Now to the fun part, the roll-out. Beginning in January, all existing customers will have access to an online training platform which will introduce you to Horizon and include e-learning modules. This will allow you to start to become familiar with Horizon and all its features. During this time, your Farm Management Support Specialist will also be getting trained on the program. You can expect farm visits to help answer any questions, as well as group webinars to introduce you to Horizon more formally. Existing customers will officially have Horizon on their computer by April 2021. At first, you will be able to run T4C and Horizon together. This will allow you to learn Horizon while keeping your management practices in place with T4C. The goal is to make the transition as seamless as possible. We encourage customers to use this time to get familiar with Horizon. Beginning in January 2022, T4C will no longer be a supported solution and all customers will be enjoying the new benefits of Horizon!
