Lely Center Mid-Atlantic is excited to host our Retrofit Bus Tour — a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see firsthand how Lely robots can fit into existing dairy barns without the need for new construction.
This tour will highlight three innovative farms that successfully transitioned to automation by retrofitting their facilities:
Showerdale Holsteins – Fredericksburg, PA
• 1 Lely Astronaut A5 retrofit from a tie-stall barn
• Biggest benefit: flexible hours and easier herd management
Reed’s Creek Farm – Annville, PA
• 2 Lely Astronaut A5s retrofit from a double-5 herringbone parlor
• Recently started up in July 2024
Pineview Dairy – Lancaster, PA
• 3 Lely Astronaut A5s and a Lely Vector automatic feeding system
• Retrofitted from a former robot barn
• Biggest benefit: major labor efficiency—added 75 cows with no additional labor
• Bonus: Ice cream available from their on-farm creamery
Lunch will be provided, with a sweet treat waiting at our final stop.
