This April two of our newest service technicians, Cortney Hostetter and Joshua Fria, traveled to Pella, Iowa to participate in Lely’s Vector Install/ Vector Service Level 1 training. The two spent the week on the Lely campus where they got to see the ins and outs of Lely’s North American operations. In a mix of both classroom and hands on time, they learned about the installation and operation of the Vector. With their classmates, they disassembled and reassembled a Vector with a crane and grabber system. Cortney said this was probably the most interesting part to her because Lely Center Mid-Atlantic does not currently have any operating in the field. They practiced creating routes for a single and double MFR (mixing feeding robot) system, along with adding in door openers and skirt lifting options. After reviewing all the settings in the system, like telling the grabber where the feed is located in the kitchen and setting up digital outputs for silos and conveyors, the two are now thoroughly comfortable with the Vector’s advanced technology. The class also practiced troubleshooting and maintenance procedures for the crane, grabber, and MFR.

We are proud of our technicians, who both successfully passed their exam and are now certified to install the Lely Vector. We are excited for them to put their new knowledge to use in the fall when we install our Vector with two MFRs!
