If you haven’t already heard, Lely North America is hosting the Northeast Vector Tour on December 14 and 15 at three of Lely Center Mid-Atlantic’s Vector farms. Participants will meet at the Holiday Inn East in Harrisburg, PA. There will be lunch and fellowship at the hotel beginning at 11:30am on Tuesday, December 14 with the bus departing for the first farm at 12:30pm.

The first stop will be at Westview Farm in Peach Bottom, PA, home of the first Vector ever installed in the United States! Today, the farm feeds its 180 dairy cows with two Mixing Feeding Robots (MFRs) and milks them with three Lely Astronauts, Lely Luna cow brushes, and a Lely Calm calf feeder.

The tour will continue to the Charles Farm in Lancaster, PA. Recently started, the farm currently uses two A5 milking robots with a third to be installed this winter. Darren Charles milks a portion of his herd in the parlor which has a viewing room next to their farm store and creamery for public interaction. The Vector was added into this retrofit facility in March 2021.

On Wednesday, December 15, the day will start with breakfast and presentations from 6:00am to 7:30am. The tour will then depart for Oakleigh Farm in Mercersburg, PA. Oakleigh Farm is home to the Brake family and is the first Red Barn in Pennsylvania which means it has the full Lely product portfolio: the Lely Vector, two A5 Lely Astronauts, Lely Luna, and two Lely Discovery Collectors. The Brake family has a unique story. They were the first farm in their county to install a milking parlor back in the day, and now they’re the first to learn how to manage a fully automatic facility.

You are sure to learn a lot about the many solutions Lely can offer your farm on this tour. Registration ends on December 6th and the limited amount of spots are filling up fast, so sign up today!
